Another Day Another Dollar!

January 21st, 2009

One more day at work and what a boring day that was! Best part of the day was watching Obama on TV and even that di not excite me too much and I thought it would. Guess I’ll put that one down to just another bad day at the office.

Not that I really work in an office all the time, well at least not my own office. I’m often out on the road visiting existing customers and trying to drum up business with all the new contacts the company seem to be finding for me.

Not sure where they are getting them from as when I visit it seems like they have no clue who I am and where I am from and in some cases they even refuse to see me because they say they are just too busy.

The services I am selling could really help them out but I guess with the current economic mess we’re there is bound to be a major reluctance to even consider investing in anything new or different however attractive the proposition maybe.

I guess I must seem like one of many that come knocking on their door to take away some more of the profits that their company is or more likely isn’t making!

Competition is certainly getting tougher and even the office girls say that getting appointments even with existing clients is just not as easy as it used to be. The girls think it is me because they don’t fully realize that a lot of these older business are now struggling to keep going as the crunch of the creditless economy really begins to bite.

Still I shouldn’t really complain as although my hours can be long sometimes the boss always tries his best to make it up to me for any extra time I put in. Not sure how long this will last though as I know a load of my buddies are having their hours cut and they are beginning to worry about actually losing their jobs just as many others are now worried about this sort of thing around the country.

Really I must be one of the lucky ones as I know they will not get rid of me just yet as I have just too much experience and many of our customers rely onĀ  me and the boss knows they would not work with anyone else. So i just hope our company can keep making sufficient profits because when it comes to it if the profits dry up we will all have to go home without a job.

So in context today was not such a bad day after all. I guess I am just spoilt.

Many would give a lot to be in my position so I should just be grateful and shut up!

So be it… (for today at least)

Boring Day At Work

A New Beginning!

January 20th, 2009

Well the time for for a mega reality check has finally arrived for Mr Obama. I’m glad that Bush has gone but a little nrevous about how Barrack is going to handle all the responsibility he now has on his young shoulders.

However if I think about this just a little deeper I realize that I really don’t have to worry about this at all. If Bush could hadle it then the big O shouldn’t have any problem at all.

The only major difference is that the econmy is in such a bad state right now that it might be almost impossible for oBama to put his policies and promise into practice, and of course that will lead to instant criticism from all those that opposed him and already want to see him gone.

Most of my closest friends think that he”ll do just great despite any opposition that might come his way, and to be honest those that oppose him should really knuckle down and give him their support anyway as I think we are all going to need it as the future whichever way you look at it ain’t real good.

Just hope and pray that he gets the guidance he needs to make the right decisions at the right time and that his close advisers are not going to deflect him from the true path that he needs to follow to get the job done.

I for one really do think that we will all be ok and that Mr Obama will see us through. The challenges will be great, as they already are, and once he gets through the initial stages of getting used to such a high power position he will do just fine.

Let’s hope so anyway!
