The Weather Is Getting Worse!
Have you noticed how we seem to have had many more natural disasters in the last few years than compared to when I was younger when they were major news as they were pretty much infrequent. These ice storms that have just hit Kentucky are just typical of what I am talking about.
The weather just seems to be getting worse and worse! Ok we still have nice days where I live, but I continually see bad reports of disasters around the world not just in the US, where nature is getting it’s own back for what we are doing to the planet. Well at least that is what it seems like to me!
In Kentucky they even had to call out the National Guard to fight the ice storm to rescue folks stuck in theri homes for over a week, some with out power and heating. That’s just crazy!
Also I guess as thing begin to thaw out many of those poor folks will be faced with leaks and potential flooding and the frustration and hassle of dealing with the insurance companies who I always feel never really want to pay very easily. So good luck to them with that and the recovery from that really bad storm.
I must also admit our local weather is not quite what it used to be either. I don’t ever remember having droughts before at least not like last year’s and the rain and thunderstorms also all seem a lot worse than they used to. What worries me the most though is that we now seem to get bad stroms at times of the year when before the weather was always pretty calm and not stormy at all!
I can only think that this really is the effects of global warming, but what is really worrying is that this is probably just the start of worse things to come. As the planet warms even more I have read that the dramatic differences in weather patterns will be become more extreme as so will the weather that comes with these changes. Must admit that is not something I am looking forward to…
Guess we’ll just have to hope that somewhere or somehow this all settles down and goes away – just dreaming! In reality I think we have a lot of bad stuff coming our way and that combined with the current economic problems were are all probably in for a tough time ahead.
